Free College Previews
The Institute offers Free College Previews so you may experience our unique teaching style and environment at first hand. This is also an opportunity to come and meet Course Director Aurora Hammond, lecturers and students and to learn more about The Institute.
Aurora will introduce the Institute, take you through our teaching philosophy and answer your questions. Ask questions, talk to us, feel comfortable with who we are. Experience our small caring environment and see if it is for you.

NEW COURSE – Vocational Graduate Diploma
A Vocational Graduate Diploma is focused on workplace training and will equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to be regustered and work as professionally trained consellors meeting the PACFA standards. This course is VETAB accredited and will be added to our teaching scope in 2008. Prerequisites for the courses are either an undergraduate degree or advanced diploma in an allied field. With a Graduate Diploma you are eligible to applu for a Masters degree if you choose to take your studies further. Having a high level of qualification may also increase your employment prospects.

Positive Parenting
Our philosophy is that children need to be seen and heard and that behaviour is related to needs.
This one-day course is not about strategies for controlling or techniques for managing children.
We will explore:
- Getting clear about the emotional needs of children and how to respond
- Separating behaviour from personality
- Meeting needs and setting boundaries
- Learning how to create emotionally safe environments
- Communication as a form of love

PACFA News
(Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia)
The latest news we have about registration for counsellors and psychotherapists is the following... there are two options for graduates of the Institute:
- 250 hours of counselling education over 2 years you will need a further 150 hours of education and then 125 hours of supervision and 1250 hours of counselling practice.
- 400 hours of counselling education over 3 years you then need 75 hours of supervision and 750 hours of counselling practice
For those graduates who need more hours there are several options to pursue here at the Institute:
- there is a third year that can be taken at Certificate or Diploma level (look at subjects 014-016 for details of content)
- there are modules that can be taken at Advanced Diploma level for those who have completed third year (see subjects 017-024) - the same modules can be taken individually for a Certificate of Attainment to make up your extra hours
Pool Meditation CD
Over the years, Aurora has facilitate this powerful meditation for creating emotional boundaries for many groups and individuals. After being asked by many people if they could buy a copy, this CD is the answer to the request. It includes three versions of the CD; one for personal use, one for family and friends and one for counsellors and healing professional.
Copies are available from the Hammond Institute for $19.95. plus postage.
