Our Courses
The Hammond Institute for Holistic Counselling offers a range of counselling courses designed to meet the requirements of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia (PACFA) which is a national body created to regulate and unify the counselling profession in Australia.
Although there are many providers of counselling training available, The Hammond Institute of Holistic Counselling has a particular emphasis on the process of the student in becoming a counsellor.
Research continually shows that success in the counselling field is about the counsellor's own ability to be genuine and empathic – and to be psychologically present
Supporting the students to look at their own issues is a large part of counsellor education and requires trainers who get to know the students over time and can give them individual support and attention.
The style of teaching in small groups that continue together over the two or three years of the course is important so that students are learning in an emotionally safe environment with people they get to know well.
There is at least one trainer who continues through with the groups and enjoys growing and developing with the students.
