Teaching Method
Holistic Counselling is seen in the context of a healing relationship. It is therefore vital that students themselves feel in relationship with the teacher and their fellow students.
To this end, the class functions as an experiential group where students are asked to participate in exercises, role plays, share about themselves and discuss issues.
Lecture material will be presented for approximately half the class and the rest will be experientially based.
The teaching staff at The Hammond Institute (formerly College of Holistic Counselling) are experienced and qualified. They are all personally committed to the values of self-awareness and responsibility in the process of training counsellors.

- Successful completion of all units of competency
- 80% class attendance
- 20 hours of workshop attendance
- 6 skills training sessions (3 per year)
- 8 personal counselling sessions
